Our state-of-the-art, cGMP manufacturing facility in Portlaoise has been in operation since 2020, focusing on mission-critical chemicals and ingredients for regional and global life science customers. As Greenfield Global’s European pharma manufacturing center of excellence, the site strengthens supply chain resilience for pharmaceutical and biotech customers across Ireland, the EU, and other global markets. The 40,000-square-foot (37,161 sq meters) site provides high-purity ethanol and ethanol blends, solvents, bioprocessing solutions, and buffer/cleaning solutions.
From Portlaoise, we manufacture and package:
- Bioprocessing solutions
- High-purity alcohols and solvents
- A range of critical solutions using USP/EP grade purified water and water for injection (WFI), including:
- Sodium hydroxide solutions
- Phosphoric acid solutions
- Citric Acid solutions
- Custom solutions formulated to customer specifications
- Hazardous Material & EHS Expertise, Visibility of supply chain from raw materials to finished product
Production suites and an on-site cleanroom are used to batch and fill these products to meet the stringent needs of life science customers.

The Portlaoise facility operates under:

- Kosher-certified operations
Key technical capabilities include:
- An ISO 8 cleanroom and Class 10,000 cGMP, Kosher-compliant white room for controlled manufacturing and filling
- In-house USP/EP purified and WFI water generation
- In-house analytical and microbial laboratory for testing and release
- Two 80,000 L ethanol storage tanks and one 40,000 L isopropyl alcohol (IPA) storage tank
- Gamma-irradiated and endotoxin-free manufacturing for designated products
- Product-dedicated production venues to help reduce cross-contamination risk
These capabilities help ensure consistent quality, robust documentation, and reliable supply for customers with stringent regulatory and technical requirements. The facility is designed as a near zero energy building (NZEB), supporting Greenfield Global’s continued commitment to energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
